FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

At Holiday Heating, we serve homeowners, businesses, and property managers across Utah who want trusted boiler and HVAC solutions. Here are answers to the most common questions our customers ask. These FAQs cover everything from annual maintenance and emergency service to high-efficiency installs and luxury systems like radiant floors and ice melt.

Do you service boilers as well as standard HVAC systems?

Yes. While we work on all types of heating and cooling systems, we are Utah’s boiler specialists. From radiant floor heating in luxury homes to large commercial steam systems, we service, install, and maintain boilers every day.

How often should my boiler or HVAC system be serviced?

  • Residential boilers & HVAC systems: once per year
  • Commercial & industrial boilers: at least twice per year (required in most cases)

Regular service extends system life, prevents costly breakdowns, and ensures safe operation — especially important for larger properties and high-efficiency systems.

What are the signs my boiler needs repair or replacement?

Call us if you notice:

  • Your system suddenly shuts down
  • Water pooling under the boiler
  • Soot or other signs of fire
  • Cold spots in rooms while the system is running

Boilers typically last 15–30 years with proper maintenance. Our team will always troubleshoot first and recommend repair when practical — replacement only when it’s the best long-term solution.

What are the advantages of a boiler system over a furnace?

Boilers deliver customized comfort and efficiency. Popular options include:

  • Radiant floor heating for consistent, luxurious warmth
  • Driveway & walkway ice melt systems that reduce snow removal costs and liability
  • Zoned heating so you only heat the spaces you use

These systems not only increase comfort but also protect your property value.

Do you provide free estimates?

We do charge a standard service call fee, which covers professional diagnostics and recommendations. For larger commercial or industrial projects, we’ll provide a detailed proposal after reviewing system requirements.

Can you work with property managers or building engineers?

Absolutely. We regularly partner with property managers, HOAs, and building engineers to maintain boilers and HVAC systems in multi-unit residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based in Provo and serve customers throughout the Wasatch Front and surrounding counties. This includes Utah and Salt Lake Counties, as well as Summit and Wasatch Counties.

Some of the areas we commonly work in include Provo, Orem, Lehi, Alpine, Highland, Draper, Sandy, Holladay, Park City, Deer Valley, Heber City, and Midway. We also serve growing communities like Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Woodland Hills, and Elk Ridge. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call — chances are, we do.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?

Yes. For our customers, we provide round-the-clock emergency support because we know a heating failure can’t wait — especially during Utah winters.

Do you service all boiler fuel types?

Yes. We work on natural gas, propane, wood pellet, and coal boilers. If you use a different fuel source, give us a call and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Do you install new boilers, or just service existing systems?

Both. Because we stay current with the latest technologies, we’re able to recommend and install new high-efficiency systems as well as maintain or repair older ones.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

Yes. We provide customized maintenance agreements tailored to your system and property needs. This helps prevent costly surprises and ensures your boiler or HVAC system runs efficiently year-round.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Holiday Heating holds the RMGA certification (gas appliances & lines), S410 boiler contractor license, an S350 HVAC contractor license, EPA refrigerant certification, OSHA safety training, and full insurance coverage. Our technicians also complete annual training and background checks.

Do you offer remote boiler monitoring?

Yes. For compatible systems, we provide remote monitoring — including alerts and adjustments. This service is especially valuable for second homes, rental properties, and businesses that can’t afford downtime.
